Alameda: A Community of Neighbors

Located in inner Northeast Portland, Alameda is an inclusive community where neighbors support each other, and care deeply about the livability of our neighborhood.

The Alameda Neighborhood Association is run by neighbors for neighbors. We advocate for smart policies, take action on neighbors’ concerns, facilitate communication about neighborhood issues, and host events to help our residents feel more connected. Our goal is to bring neighbors together to create a livable, thriving community.

Alameda Neighborhood Association meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7 pm at Fremont United Methodist Church, 2620 NE Fremont St. All are welcome to attend! Meetings are a great way to find out about what’s going on in the neighborhood.

Learn The Basics of Wood Window Repair!

The Portland Architectural Heritage Center will welcome back Patty Spencer, owner of Fresh Air Sash Cord Repair, Inc. for a presentation on February 28 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

With a focus on restoring operating function, Patty will share over 27 years of experience in preserving and restoring the function of original, double-hung, and wooden windows found in homes built in the 1940s and earlier. For more information and to register for the program, go to visitahc.org

Century Plaques ARE here!

Is your home at least 100 years old? If so, you can celebrate it with an Alameda commemorative plaque!

The Alameda Neighborhood Association is now offering Century Home Plaques that can be attached to your house or displayed inside on a shelf or mantel.

The heavy cast, polished bronze plaques are 2-½ inches tall and 10 inches wide, and will be similar to those sold in the Laurelhurst neighborhood (see photo above).

We are currently accepting orders for homes built in 1926 or earlier. For info and ordering instructions visit our Alameda Century Plaques page.
